Job Brief:

RoboTape is Innovative Automation Inc’s first Robotic Taping System designed to handle repetitive and demanding tape applications and will be located in our Newmarket facility at Mecsmart Systems Inc. We are looking for Junior to Intermediate Electricians to use output from the Electrical Design department, along with purchased components, to build custom RoboTape automation equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand electrical drawings, manuals, specifications, then, applying all pertinent electrical codes, proceed to build systems as scheduled
  • Wire electrical system and Panels to current electrical code
  • Perform general system checks once wiring is complete, which include, but not limited to, Full System Power Ups, Troubleshooting wiring circuit, motor rotation checks, safety circuit testing, I/O testing, and switch adjustments
  • Mark drawings to “as built” throughout the project
  • Suggest, design, and alter electrical control circuits.
  • Review machine function with mechanical developer
  • Understand different customer specifications
  • Support installation & start-up at customer site
  • Occasional travel as required, Globally

Qualifications:

  • Minimum OCOT Canadian Red Seal Certificate of Qualification 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician
  • Minimum Diploma from 2-year Electrical Engineering Technician (Co-op) Program or 3-year Electrical Engineering Technology (Co-op) Program
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Industrial or Commercial application
  • Working understanding of PLC function, wiring, motors, and drives, with basic mechanical and pneumatic fundamentals
  • Strong electrical and assembly knowledge of custom automation
  • Ability to lift weights reaching 50lbs, carry weights reaching 40lbs, and push and pull weights reaching 100-150lbs
